Concordia Textiles opens
fabric library

An innovative company marketing an extensive range of textiles, but lacking a convenient tool for existing and prospective customers to browse the wares. Not an enviable position. That’s why we joined forces with Concordia Textiles to compile a digital fabric library to support sales and marketing while also improving the customer experience.

New sales channel

Concordia Textiles already has a live corporate website, but more was needed to generate more leads and drive up sales. The solution was a new digital fabric library, which we incorporated into the website. The goal was to create a powerful tool to allow existing customers and prospects alike to navigate the entire range of fabrics available – with time-saving filters – and immediately request a quote.

UX platform

Users can register to get a personal login for the private environment. Once their registration has been approved they are able to browse the fabrics, selecting what they are looking for and adding them to their bucket. They can then request a quote by completing the webform, including such details as quantities and specifications. Behind the scenes an Excel list of products is uploaded to the FTP server every night to ensure the library is always up to date. New products are added automatically, linked to brands, certificates and technical details, and reported to the website administrator in an email notification.

Digital ecosystem

As you’d expect, the library offers a lot more than simply dry product data. Every fabric is accompanied by the relevant technical data sheet, washing instructions, related fabrics and marketing content. The whole library is administered in Drupal and fits in perfectly with how Concordia Textiles organises its range inhouse. But that’s not all: alongside the fabric library we also launched a separate document library exclusively for registered users. All told then, Concordia Textiles is clearly gradually building up a powerful digital ecosystem.
