Equ.Breeding launched the Equbreeding.auction platform a few years ago. The Eventique team kept a tight rein on the most recent edition of this in-person and online auction, which enjoys a great reputation among horse lovers in Belgium and around the world. Their flawless event organisation and coordination ensured a stylish and spectacular show.

Black box concept

The event venue was Stal de Eyckenhoeve in Geel. We set up the auction on two levels on the indoor track. That ensured everyone had a good view of the horses, while guests could also enjoy dinner. We went for a chic full-black concept to focus attention on the embryos, foals and adults. We also took care of a catwalk with photo wall at the entrance, signage throughout the venue, branded menus and more… Every last detail got the attention it deserved.

Showtime!

Two certified auctioneers took on the roles of moderator and presenter. We also placed spotters on the track to ensure that all bids from the public were tracked and identified. We’d booked a special act – singing group Jong Scala – to entertain guests by boosting the energy levels in between the 25 lots and marking large bids and big sales with a burst of melodious magic. The auction was followed by an afterparty with DJ, live saxophonist and violist. The perfect opportunity to talk about the lots that had been offered for sale.

Press and media coverage

The auction actually set a new world sales record, with the embryo of a jumper fetching the highest successful bid ever, no less than 124,000 euros! The press jumped on the story, too, creating plenty of free publicity for Equ.Breeding and confirming its unique position in the industry.

All-in event

Besides decor, organisation and activities, a show of this calibre clearly requires a lot of direction. The combination of the horse on the track, the photos and the videos on the big screen, not forgetting the camera for online bids, set our directors quite a challenge. We were however able to take every obstacle in our stride.

Finally, this

We were also responsible for all event communication, from invitations to registrations. Everyone was given a small gift when leaving the venue at the end of the day. By scanning the included QR code, guests could access a special thankyou from the organisers and a save the date for the next edition. Equ.Breeding is already looking forward to 2024.
