New digital platform
for FCO Media
Profacility, the trade magazine for the building, workplace, facilities and mobility management community, was the first FCO Media title to get a complete digital make-over recently. We developed a brand-new platform that’s user-friendly, visually powerful and ready for the future.
Ready for more
FCO Media reaches its professional target audience through various media channels, both online and offline. But the digital ecosystem behind the channels was ready for an upgrade. Profacility was the first ‘digital trade magazine’ in line. The goals were to optimise the online user experience, centralise data and lay the foundations for the future development of other trade-related FCO Media platforms.

Strategy, structure, style
After a thorough insight and creative phase, we worked out the content structure of the new Profacility website: articles, digital magazines, podcasts, adverts, events, corporate profiles, vacancies and more. Each content type was given its own logic and hierarchy. We then developed wireframes that rendered all that complexity into a website with clear navigation that delivers an accessible UX. Check out the practical menu presenting links to every tool and category. The roles – who can manage and see what – were also clearly set out. How are logging in and registration organised? What is publicly available and what is protected? Which dedicated pages are there for the various types of Profacility partner? The designs those questions teased out were perfectly tailored to the platform’s professional character and presented the various content types in an uncluttered way.

One CMS, so convenient
We built the new bilingual platform completely in Drupal within a futureproof multidomain architecture. That’s because other FCO Media trade websites will be conveniently managed by the same CMS. Profacility now manages all its content and users through a central backend, a huge advancement in terms of efficiency. We were also responsible for migrating the existing content and users (including their subscriptions). In doing so, we took care to ensure the platform could go live without losing any history or functionality.

Greater insight, greater impact
Profacility now has a modern, stable, scalable digital platform that is making a world of difference for both users and administrators alike. User-friendly, visually attractive and brimming with content, built on a CMS structure that’s ready to accommodate the rest of the FCO Media ecosystem – three new trade magazines are set to be incorporated into the CMS soon. A successful digital transformation with the future in mind.
